Caroline Katmann served as SSAAM’s first Executive Director from June 2020 to October 2021. Caroline was a New Jersey public school teacher, staff developer, and district-level administrator for 31 years before retiring from public education in 2005. She worked as an Education Consultant from 2005 to 2012. In 2009, Caroline became a trustee on the board of the Sourland Conservancy (SC), and in January of 2013, she was hired as the Conservancy's first full-time Executive Director. Caroline has never been as fascinated by history as she has been since working with the Stoutsburg Sourland African American Museum!
