Somerset County Weekend Journey Through the Past
October 13 & 14, 2018
Mt. Zion AME Church, Skillman, NJ

SSAAM and the Sourland Conservancy (SC) participated in Somerset County’s Weekend Journey Through the Past over the weekend of Oct. 13 and 14. Visitors from throughout the state, many first-time visitors to SSAAM’s Mt Zion AME Church, were delighted to have the opportunity to visit our little church and learn more about African American History in the Sourlands and Hopewell Valley. Thanks to SSAAM board members, Bruce Daniels, Cat Hogan, Marylou Ferrara, John Buck, Beverly Mills (advisory board), Elaine Buck (advisory Board) and SC board president, Dante DiPirro, and Executive Director, Caroline Katmann, for tabling and/or giving tours. Thank you to Somerset County's Cultural and Heritage Commission for organizing this wonderful weekend event!
