Remembering Frederick Douglass

This Valentine’s Day, SSAAM invites you to a birthday party for activist and abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Although Douglass never knew his birthdate, he chose to celebrate every year on February 14th. 

Join us at the True Farmstead to honor Frederick Douglass’s legacy and create Black history together. Bring your laptops and help transcribe Douglass’s correspondence from the Library of Congress alongside volunteers across the country! Birthday cake will be provided.
