Peach Basket Marketplace

The SSAAM Peach Basket Marketplace is our online marketplace for interesting items unique to SSAAM and the African American presence and experience in the Sourland Mountain region.
The name Peach Basket was inspired by the peach industry, which thrived in the Sourland region in the 19th century, and was served in large part by the African Americans who lived here. The baskets were used to collect the fruit, and the peaches were used in marmalade, jam, dried peach sauce, stewed peaches, pie, pudding, Charlotte and wine.
