Douglass Day is a national celebration honoring Frederick Douglass and his legacy as an abolitionist, intellectual, and advocate for justice. Each year, communities come together to build free, public resources that expand access to Black history.
The 2026 theme highlights the Fourteenth Amendment (June 1866) and its lasting impact on citizenship and civil rights.

Join a community transcribe-a-thon focused on records from the historic Colored Conventions movement. Help make these important documents accessible to the public. A celebratory cake cutting will take place at 1:00 PM.
