Saturday Garden Club & Open Hours at SSAAM
Upcoming SSAAM Museum Open Hours:

Wednesday, July 23 | 10 AM – 1 PM
Saturday, August 9 | 10 AM – 1 PM
Wednesday, August 27 | 10 AM – 1 PM
Join us this season at the National Historic Register-listed Mt. Zion AME Church to explore the deep-rooted history and contributions of African Americans in Central New Jersey. Our passionate staff and docents are ready to guide you through stories that shaped our region and continue to inspire.
And just outside, something else is growing—our community garden and the conversations it cultivates. The SSAAM Garden Club meets every Saturday in an open-house style format. Come for as long or as little as you’d like. With beds tilled, plants thriving, and seeds continuing to grow, there’s always something to do—rain or shine. One rainy Saturday even sparked a powerful conversation about food sovereignty—and that’s the heart of it: what’s growing here goes beyond vegetables. It’s community. We can’t wait to welcome you!
Interested in making a local impact? SSAAM offers private tours for corporations, student groups, families, and friends. Tours are $25/adult and $15/child or student. For sponsorship or group bookings, contact us at tours@ssaamuseum.org.
